Conway, Elser, Montour, and Pawloski Earn USHL Weekly Honors

Chicago, IL - The United States Hockey League today announced the CCM and Reebok player awards for the final week of the 2013-14 USHL regular season.

Winners include Scott Conway of the Indiana Ice and Danny Elser of the Des Moines Buccaneers, recognized as co-recipients of CCM Forward of the Week; Brandon Montour of the Waterloo Black Hawks, selected as CCM Defenseman of the Week; and Jason Pawloski of the Indiana Ice, named Reebok Goaltender of the Week.

Scott Conway, F, Indiana Ice: The Kissimmee, Florida native was on fire last week, accounting for six goals, an assist, and a plus-four rating over three games played. Wednesday night, he tallied the four goals in a 9-1 win over the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He scored three of the goals in the second period alone and it was the first four-goal game in the history of the Indiana Ice. He also added an assist and tied a game-high plus-four on-ice rating. The 18-year-old found the scoresheet again on Friday, tallying a power play marker in a 4-2 loss to the Green Bay Gamblers. He rounded out his career week with his sixth goal in three games during Sunday's 5-2 victory over the Chicago Steel. Committed to Penn State University, Conway finishes the regular season fourth in League scoring, totaling 68 points (33g, 35a) in 57 games played, and tied for first overall with a plus-40 rating.

Danny Elser, F, Des Moines Buccaneers: The recently turned 21-year-old capped off his USHL career with a bang, recording five points (4g, 1a) and registering a plus-five rating over two games for the Bucs. He scored four goals and tied a game high plus-four rating in Friday's 5-2 win over the Tri-City Storm. He netted two goals in the first period and closed out the game with two more in the third period. The four-goal game tied a Buccaneers record. In his last USHL game, Elser dished out an assist on his team's lone goal in a 2-1 shootout loss to the Fargo Force on Saturday. The Hopewell Junction, New York was the Bucs scoring leader this season with 36 points (19g, 17a) over 58 games. He closes out his USHL career with 64 points (31g, 33a) over 114 games.

Brandon Montour, D, Waterloo Black Hawks: For the second week in a row, and sixth time this season, the 19-year-old has earned League honors after registering four points (1g, 3a) to help Waterloo earn a weekend sweep of the rival Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. He dished out an assist and then potted the game-winning goal in Friday's 5-1 win. The Oshweken, Ontario native added two more assists, including one on the game-tying goal, in Saturday's 3-2 shootout victory to clinch the Anderson Cup title for Waterloo. He closed out the regular season riding a five-game point streak (2g, 7a) to not only finished first among USHL defensemen in scoring, but ninth overall in the League with 62 points (14g, 48a) in 60 games played. The University of Massachusetts commit had the second most assists (48) in the League and also finishes sixth overall with a plus-35 on-ice rating.

Jason Pawloski, G, Indiana Ice: The 18-year-old led Indiana to a pair of wins last week, posting a 2-0-0 record with a 1.50 goals-against-average and .949 save percentage. On Wednesday night, the Omaha, Nebraska native stopped 25 shots in a big 9-1 win over the Dubuque Fighting Saints. He was back in goal on Saturday where he made 31 saves in a 5-2 victory over the Chicago Steel. It was his fourth victory over his last five starts and 27th win of the season, tying for the lead among USHL goaltenders. His win total also tied for the third most in a season by an Ice goaltender. Committed to Minnesota State University-Mankato, Pawloski wraps up the regular season with a 27-8-6 record and ranks fifth in the League with a 2.46 GAA.
