
Lancers Edge out Musketeers, 3-2

RALSTON, NE - The Omaha Lancers edged out the Sioux City Musketeers on Friday night by a final score of 3-2.
The Musketeers got the first goal of the night when Kirklan Irrey (1:09) netted the puck past Jakub Dobes. The Lancers went on their first power-play of the night soon after, where Nolan Renwick (2:12) evened the game 1-1. Ayrton Martino and Ryan Lautenbach were called on the assists. On the second Lancers power-play, Michael Posma (12:59) snapped the puck past Schmid to get the Lancers ahead 2-1. Tyler Carpenter and Nick Perna assisted Posma on the goal.
After a scoreless second period, Buium (1:25) evened the game 2-2 taking the puck from his own blue line deep into the Omaha zone for a shot that went past Dobes. Later on, Kennedy O'Connor (8:30) banked the puck off of a Musketeer defender to score his first career USHL goal. Sioux City pulled Schmid nearing the end of the period, but could not score again, as the Lancers took the win 3-2. Dobes stopped 25 of the 27 shots he faced.
Omaha is now 14-12 on the year with 28 points. They currently sit at fourth place in the USHL West.
The Lancers return to action tomorrow against the Lincoln Stars at the Ice Box. The opening puck drop is set for 7:05 PM. All of the action will be on MixLR and HockeyTV.
