Lancers Aquire Omaha Native Nick Oddo

COUNCIL BLUFFS, IA - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce they have acquired forward Nick Oddo in a trade with the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders. In exchange, the Lancers sent Cedar Rapids their 1st and 2nd Round selections in this afternoon's supplemental draft (Omaha's 8th & 9th selections overall). Oddo, an Omaha native, spent the last two seasons with the RoughRiders where he compiled 24 goals and 41 points in 107 regular season games.

"Nick brings skill along with an ability to score," said Lancers Head Coach/GM Bliss Littler. "He's a USHL veteran who has been extremely well coached and will bring that experience here to Omaha."

Oddo, having already committed to the University of Nebraska-Omaha, tallied 10 goals and 18 points in 50 games with Cedar Rapids last year. He was also tied for 5th among all RoughRiders with a +/- rating of +11. In his first USHL season in 2007-08, Oddo registered 14 goals and 23 points in 57 games and was once again one of the team leaders in +/- at +9.

After completing the five-round USHL Futures Draft yesterday, the Lancers will continue to supplement their 2009-2010 roster with the USHL Entry Draft today. Follow live draft results through www.ushl.com or www.lancers.com.
