USHL Entry Draft Provides Players Additional Opportunities

May 13, 2009 - United States Hockey League (USHL) News Release

Grand Forks, North Dakota - United States Hockey League (USHL) teams have already begun preparing for the future by selecting five players during Tuesday's USHL Futures Draft, but now organizations further build the foundation for the 2009-10 season during the USHL Entry Draft which commences at 1:00 PM (CT) on Wednesday, May 13th.

The number of rounds for the Entry Draft shall be as many rounds necessary to bring each club's player roster to at least 30. Teams will first draft to fill the active roster number of 23. The Entry Draft will then extend to allow all teams to bring their roster to 30.

The selection order of the Entry Draft is based on the reverse order of the total points accumulated in the final regular season standings. As an expansion club, Youngstown will draft before teams that qualified for the playoffs. This order will be maintained through each round of the Entry Draft.
