(Lancaster, Penn.) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Lancaster Barnstormers 7-4 on Saturday night in the second game of a four-game series at Clipper Magazine Stadium.

The Ducks plated the game's first run in the third inning on Lew Ford's RBI groundout to short off of Barnstormers starter Marcus Walden. Reegie Corona extended the lead to 4-0 in the fifth with a three-run home run to right field, his first as a Duck.

Lancaster would tie up the score in the bottom of the sixth with four runs (one earned) off of Ducks starter Mickey Jannis. Following two errors, Blake Gailen hit a three-run homer to right, and three batters later, Keith Castillo tied the game with a RBI double to right. Three more runs in the seventh gave the ‘Stormers a 7-4 lead. RBI singles by Brian Cavazos-Galvez and Lance Zawadzki as well as a run-scoing wild pitch did the damage.

Neither starter factored into the decision. Jannis tossed five innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on six hits while striking out six. Walden lasted five innings, yielding four runs (three earned) on five hits and two walks with five strikeouts. Shunsuke Watanabe (1-1) picked up the win with two scoreless innings of relief, and Bruce Kern (0-1) suffered the loss, giving up three runs on one hit and two walks in two-thirds of an inning. Chad Beck collected his first save with a scoreless ninth.

Corona led the Flock with three hits and three RBI, while Jon Griffin added two hits.

Long Island and Lancaster continue their four-game set on Sunday afternoon. Game time is slated for 1:00 p.m. from Clipper Magazine Stadium. Right-hander John Brownell toes the rubber for the Ducks against Barnstormers righty Bryan Woodall.
