Lakewood Tops Lake County 9-7

EASTLAKE, OH-6 in the first inning were enough for the Lakewood BlueClaws, as they held on for a 9-7 win over Lake County on Friday night. Jason Donald hit his 2nd homer of the year as part of the frame, and Doug Morales added a 2-run single, as 11 men came to the plate.

Donald was 2-4 with a double and home run and 2 RBIs. Adrian Cardenas added 2 hits and 2 RBIs, and Tuffy Gosewisch was 3-5 in the win.

Kyle Drabek (2-0) allowed 4 runs on 8 hits in 5.1 IP in getting the win. Carlton Smith (1-2) took the loss for Lake County. Ronald Hill, who entered the game with the bases loaded and nobody out in the 8th, picked up his 4th save of the season.

The teams play the middle game of 3 tomorrow at 1:05. Carlos Monasterios (1-2, 5.11) throws for Lakewood. You can hear the game on the Shore Sports Network (1160 WOBM-AM and 1310 WADB) beginning at 12:50.
