Charleston RiverDogs News Release
CHARLESTON, SC - The Charleston RiverDogs' return to Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park on May 8 will be filled with promotions and activities over a four-day period as the team hosts the Savannah Sand Gnats for the third of nine series between the teams this season. Each of the four games are slated to begin at 7:05 p.m.
Tuesday, May 8, marks the first game of the series, and the RiverDogs welcome fans in pairs, as Two for Tuesday offers fans a two-for-one deal on general admission along with food and drink specials in the Ashley View Pub, sponsored by Blue Moon and 96 WAVE. The RiverDogs will be handing out free tickets to see Spiderman at the Charleston IMAX Theatre, and Spiderman clips will be shown on the video board during the game along with giveaways following the same theme.
Wednesday is BINGO, BINGO, BINGO Night, presented by Star 99.7 FM. As fans enter the gates, they will receive a special baseball bingo sheet and game card. Between innings, numbers will be read over the public address system and displayed on the video board. Star 99.7 FM will also set up a photograph booth and accept donations for charity.
Thursday, May 10, is another Thirsty Thursday as well as Teacher Appreciation Night, plus local reggae band Da Gullah Rootz will play prior to the game in Margaritaville. It's all sponsored by Wild Wing Café and 95 SX. The "Teacher of the Year" will be recognized on the field before the game, and as always on Thursdays, Riley Park will have $1 beer specials.
Friday concludes the homestand with some Friday Night Fireworks presented by Cricket Wireless and Y102.5 FM. Duke's Mayonnaise/Piggly Wiggly Family Night will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of The Citadel-Georgia Southern game. To celebrate Duke's 90th anniversary, fans can receive a free general admission ticket to the game by presenting a receipt showing the purchase of Duke's Mayonnaise at Piggly Wiggly. The RiverDogs will also hand out 90 18-ounce bottles of Duke's mayonnaise. In addition, the Charleston Gymnastics team will be on hand to perform right before the post-game fireworks.
After the homestand, the RiverDogs go on the road for a four-game series at Asheville before returning home May 16 to face the Rome Braves.
