Hagerstown Suns News Release
Lakewood, NJ: A four-run first inning by the Lakewood Blueclaws paced their 7-5 win on Tuesday. Leivi Ventura and Jose Castro each had ground balls hit to them in the first inning that should have been double plays. The Suns ended up just getting one out combined, because of bobbles by both fielders, and the Blueclaws (35-16) had a 4-0 lead after the first inning. Bobby Parnell (5-10) settled down and didn't give up any more runs over the next four innings but still got the loss. The Suns did manage to make it 4-3 after a bases loaded, three-run double by Sean Henry, but never could manage to tie the game. The Suns fell to 20-30 in the second half.
The Suns will send LHP Jonathon Niese up against LHP Josh Outman of the Blueclaws on Wednesday at 7:05pm in game two of four. The Suns have just started a 13 game, 13 day road trip. Thier next home game is Monday, August 28th versus the Lake County Captains at 7:05pm. For tickets for the Feed Your Face Monday, or any future game call the Suns at 301.791.6266 or log on to www.hagerstownsuns.com.
