(Charleston, WV- June 29, 2014) - The West Virginia Power had their five-game winning streak snapped by the Lakewood BlueClaws in a 10-5 final on Sunday afternoon at Appalachian Power Park. Lakewood's Zach Green homered twice to help the 'Claws take game three of the four game series.

The BlueClaws were on the board first in the second with a solo blast off the bat of Green. The Power, however, answered with four in the bottom half. Ashley Ponce doubled home a run followed by a Justin Maffei RBI single to cap off the big inning.

Lakewood responded with two in the fourth behind a Mitch Walding RBI infield single and then another to tie the game in the fifth with an Andrew Knapp sacrifice fly. West Virginia came back with a run to regain the lead in the bottom on an Erich Weiss RBI single.

The 'Claws came back in a big way with a Willians Astudillo two-run blast in the fifth and then a three-run shot off the bat of Zach Green to put the game out of reach.

Power reliever Zack Von Rosenberg (0-1) was charged with the loss as Lakewood hurler Jesen Therrien (2-0) earned the win. Harold Ramirez extended his league-best hit streak to 21 games with a base hit in the seventh.

West Virginia hosts the Lakewood BlueClaws on Monday, June 30, at Appalachian Power Park. Power southpaw Cody Dickson will toe the rubber against the BlueClaws Jon Prosinski. For tickets or more information, call 304-344-2287 or visit www.wvpower.com.
