
Lakeland Magic Defeat Delaware Blue Coats

The Lakeland Magic, NBA G League affiliate of the Orlando Magic, defeated the Delaware Blue Coats 115-107 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
Lakeland got off to a hot start, taking an 11-point lead behind three made triples from DJ Hogg in the first period. Big quarters from Devin Cannady and Mamadi Diakite helped extend the Magic lead to 22 points at halftime. Lakeland shot over 62% from the field and over 44% from three in the first half, while holding the Blue Coats to just 34% field goal shooting.
Delaware came out strong in the second half, outscoring Lakeland 36-25 in the third quarter. Paul Reed scored nine points in the quarter to help cut the Blue Coats deficit to 11 points going into the fourth. Delaware narrowed the margin to just three points in the final period before Lakeland regained control and went on to win by eight.
Cannady finished with 24 points (5-7 3PT), eight assists, two rebounds and two steals. Diakite added 21 points, 10 rebounds, four assists and two blocks. Billy Garrett posted 14 points and six assists.
Rayjon Tucker led all scorers with 25 points, four assists and two rebounds. Reed finished with 22 points, 14 rebounds and two assists. Jemerrio Jones added 15 points and 12 rebounds.
The Lakeland Magic take on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Sunday, February 28. Tipoff is scheduled for 3:00 PM at the AdventHealth Arena. The game will be nationally televised on NBA TV and Twitch.
