Lake Elsinore Storm Lose Thursday Evening Game to Stockton Ports
June 16, 2023 - California League (CalL)
Lake Elsinore Storm News Release
With Robby Snelling on the mound, the Lake Elsinore Storm typically expect to win. In fact, they were 6-2 before their last two games. First, a 1-0 loss to the Fresno Grizzlies last week. Now, an 8-5 loss to the Stockton Ports. In his previous outing, he was his typically dominant self. He went five innings pitched, striking out eight batters, and allowing the only run of the game.
Tonight, it was a slightly different story. He would similarly get through five innings, striking out just one fewer batter than in his last appearance, however, he would also allow eight hits and three earned runs. This would put the Storm in a three-run hole through four and a half innings. In the bottom of the fifth, they would get one run back on a Devin Ortiz double that was just inside the third baseline.
The Ports would get two more runs on the board in the top of the 8th. Luckily, the Storm have an Albert Fabian. The league leader in doubles and RBIs came to the plate with two men on board and hit his 12th home run of the season and collected his 55th RBI. This tied the game at 5 runs apiece.
Unfortunately, the Storm would allow three runs in the top of the 9th and would be unable to respond in the bottom. They will play again tomorrow night for Xtreme Sports Night at The Diamond.
