April 24, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) remained unbeaten in the 2021 MLS season, playing to a 1-1 draw with Seattle Sounders FC on Saturday afternoon at Banc of California Stadium. Eduard Atuesta scored LAFC's only goal of the game with a 2nd minute freekick, giving his team an early 1-0 lead. That goal came after just one minute and 25 seconds, making it the fastest goal in LAFC history.
Seattle equalized in the 54th minute when Brad Smith headed home a rebound following a diving save by LAFC goalkeeper Pablo Sisniega. Each team had chances to go in front over the last half hour of the game, but neither could breakthrough and the game finished 1-1. With the draw, LAFC is now 1-1-0 (W-D-L) on the season for four points.
LAFC returns to action next Saturday, May 1 when it plays its first road game of 2021 against Houston Dynamo FC. That game, which starts a stretch of three consecutive road games for LAFC, kicks off at 12:30 p.m. PT and will be broadcast nationally in Spanish on Univision.
