April 24, 2021 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE, Tenn.ÃÂ -ÃÂ Nashville Soccer Club earned its second consecutive two-goal come-from-behind result today as Designated Players Jhonder Cádiz and Hany Mukhtar scored to earn a 2-2 draw against CF Montréal at Nissan Stadium.
The two sides will meet again on June 26 in Nashville and conclude the three-game series on Sept. 12 with CF Montréal as the designated home side.
Don't Count Us Out:ÃÂ For the second time in consecutive weeks Nashville SC erased a two-goal deficit to earn a result. Last week, the Boys in Gold trailed behind FC Cincinnati to set that as a club's record in Major League Soccer history.
Delighted Designated Players: This is the second time in Cádiz and Mukhtar's brief time together that the two Designated Players have scored a goal in the same match. The first time dates back to Nov. 8, 2020 on Decision Day, presented by AT&T, against Orlando City SC.
Mukhtar's fifth MLS regular season goal makes him the current all-time leading scorer in the club's MLS history.
Cádiz has scored in his last three MLS regular season matches dating back to his goal at Orlando City.
Keep Shooting Your Shot: Nashville SC recorded 18 shots today against CF Montréal, giving them a total of 50 on the season after a club record of 32 last week against FC Cincinnati. The 50 shots through the first two matches surpass the 28 recorded through two matches in 2020.
Nashville SC will return to Nissan Stadium on Sunday, May 2, as the club continues its four-match homestand in a national televised ESPN contest at 12 p.m. CT against 2020 expansion counterpart Inter Miami CF.
