LA Kings Prospects Jacob Middleton and Damir Sharipzyanov Join Reign

Ontario, CA - The Ontario Reign, proud American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League (NHL), announced today that defensemen Jacob Middleton and Damir Sharipzyanov have joined the Reign on amateur tryout agreements.

Middleton, 20, completed a four-year junior career with the Ontario Hockey League's Ottawa 67's and Owen Sound Attack totaling 86 points (14 goals, 72 assists) in 226 games. The Stratford, Ontario, native was selected by the LA Kings in the seventh round (210th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and served as the team captain of the 67's last season.

Sharipzyanov (pronounced SHRIP-ZEE-AHN-OV), 20, skated three seasons with the Owen South Attack (pictured above) adding 71 points (19 goals, 52 assists) in 179 games and earned a silver medal with Team Russia in the 2016 World Junior Championships. The Nizhnekamsk, Russia, product signed a three-year entry-level contract with the LA Kings last August.

The Ontario Reign complete a four-game road trip on Wednesday, April 6 against the Stockton Heat at 7:00 p.m. at Stockton Arena in Stockton, California and return to Citizens Business Bank Arena for the final regular-season home game on Friday, April 8 against the Bakersfield Condors at 7:00 p.m. Join the Reign for Fan Appreciation Night, Sprouts Grocery Bag Giveaway and $2 20oz.
