Defenseman Kanzig Set to Rejoin Heat

Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Heat, proudly owned by the Calgary Flames of the National Hockey League, announce that defenseman Keegan Kanzig is set to rejoin the Heat after his junior season with the Calgary Hitmen came to an end.

Kanzig, 21, began the year with the Heat, making his pro debut in a Heat shutout win of the Texas Stars back on October 21 before the Calgary Flames assigned Kanzig back to the WHL to play his overage year with the Calgary Hitmen. In just 53 games, Kanzig established a new career high in goals with 13 and finished the season with 20 points, helping the Hitmen to the postseason. The Athabasca, Alberta native scored his second postseason goal in his WHL career but ultimately his Hitmen fell to the Red Deer Rebels in five games.
