In their 33rd match of the 2018 MLS Regular Season, the LA Galaxy (13-11-9, 48 points) defeated Minnesota United FC (11-19-3, 36 points) 3-1 on Sunday evening in Minneapolis.
With the result, the Galaxy are now 13-11-9 on the season with 48 points, 64 goals scored and 61 goals allowed.
With a win next week against Houston Dynamo, the LA Galaxy will earn the 6th spot in the 2018 MLS Cup Playoffs. They will be eliminated with a loss or a draw.
Dominic Kinnear is now 3-1-1 in his five games since being named LA Galaxy Interim Manager.
In each of the three wins, Kinnear has trotted out the same starting lineup.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored his 22nd goal of the MLS season. With an additional assist tonight, Ibrahimovic now has 22 goals and 10 assists in 26 appearances.
Ibrahimovicâ¡ joins Roy Lassiter (1996) as the only other MLS player with two 5-game goal-scoring streaks in the same season.
Ola Kamara scored his 12th goal of the season.
Ashley Cole recorded his ninth assist of the season, the most of any defender in MLS.
Romain Alessandrini scored his 11th goal of the season, his second straight season with 10+ goals.
The Galaxy defense has allowed just two goals in their last four games.
This year on the road, the Galaxy are now 5-7-5.
The Galaxy are now 6-1-6 when leading at halftime and 9-2-7 when scoring the first goal of the match.
With 64 goals, the Galaxy are the second-highest scoring team in the Western Conference.
LA Galaxy Interim Head Coach Dominic Kinnear is now 169-136-135 during his 15-year coaching career in Major League Soccer.
LA Galaxy will finish the regular season at StubHub Center on Sunday, Oct. 28 vs. Houston Dynamo (1 p.m. PT).
