York Revolution News Release
(York, Pa): Nearly a year after Green Bay Packers fullback John Kuhn first returned to Sovereign Bank Stadium as a Super Bowl Champion, he's coming back to a Revolution game to mark the occasion.
On July 13, 2011, adorned in a Freedom Division All-Star jersey just like the ones the Revolution All-Stars were wearing, Kuhn threw a strike for the ceremonial first pitch to begin the first Atlantic League All-Star Game in York. On Tuesday, July 3, the first 1,500 Revolution fans through the gate at Sovereign Bank Stadium will get a commemorative bobblehead doll of Kuhn as he looked that night, throwing out the first pitch.
The team received word on Wednesday that Kuhn will be able to make it back to York for the event, in-between his responsibilities with the Packers. The Revolution is offering tickets to a special game-long private reception with Kuhn, in the White Rose Hall on the Mini of Baltimore Skybox Level. The tickets include admission to the game, a guaranteed bobblehead, a meet and greet and Q & A with Kuhn, a two-hour all-you-can-eat buffet beginning at 5:45 p.m., with beer and wine service for the first hour. Game time is at 6:30, and gates will open at 5:30.
Tickets for the event are $75 apiece, and only $65 for Revolution season ticket holders and official Packers shareholders. There are only 100 tickets available for purchase, and may be purchased online at YorkRevolution.com, by calling 717-801-HITS or in-person at the Apple Chevrolet Ticket Office. In addition, 100 random copies of the York Revolutionary Times, the free program handed out before each game, will be stickered with a special FREE invitation to an autograph session with Kuhn during the game.
Kuhn, born in York, played at Dover Area High School and for Shippensburg University. He is entering his sixth season with the Packers, and was an integral part of their 2010 Super Bowl Championship team. It was the second Super Bowl ring for Kuhn, as he also picked one up as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers practice squad in 2006.
The York Revolution Professional Baseball Club is a member of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. The team has captured the Atlantic League Championship in two consecutive seasons, 2010 and 2011 in just five years as a franchise. Home games are played at Sovereign Bank Stadium, located at 5 Brooks Robinson Way, York, PA 17401.
