Fort Wayne, IN -- The Komets enter tonight's home game at the Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne on the heels of a 3-2 come-from-behind shootout win Friday night at Bloomington in the first of a weekend home-and-home series against the PrairieThunder. It was Fort Wayne's fourth straight road victory.
The Thunder posted a 2-0 lead before the Komets rallied for two goals in the second period from Tab Lardner and Artem Podshendyalov to take a knotted 2-2 game into the second intermission. After a scoreless third period and overtime, the Komets prevailed in the shootout 1-0 with Lardner scoring the lone goal in the extra frame for his second shootout game winning goal of the season as the K's extended their road winning streak to four games. Lardner has goals in each of the last three games for a three-game goal and point-scoring streak (5 goals, 1 assist).
Komet goaltender Nick Boucher stopped 32 of 34 shots in regulation and overtime before stopping all five Bloomington shooters in the shootout for his 10th win of the season. Boucher posted his third straight road win and second straight win over Bloomington.
Tonight the Komets (13-17-5) have a chance to make it a four-point weekend when they host the PrairieThunder (20-13-2) at 7:30pm. The Komets have points in 12 of the last 14 games played (8-2-4) for a .714 pace over that span of games.
The Komets have a chance to take a series lead over the PrairieThunder after pulling even at 2-2-0 with the win at Bloomington Friday night. Tonight's game is the fifth of 10 meetings this year and the third of five at Fort Wayne.
The IR -- Continuing on 30day injured reserve are Leo Thomas and Brandon Warner. On 10-day IR is center Neil Musselwhite. Chris Francis is on call-up to Springfield AHL.

The Circus is coming to town -- After tonight, the Komets will go on the road for a two-week absence from home ice as the Circus invades the Coliseum next week. The K's head south for games at Bossier-Shreveport (Shreveport/Bossier City, Louisiana) Friday and Saturday. Sunday, Jan. 30, the Komets will skate at Texas (Fort Worth/Dallas area) before heading back to Fort Wayne to host Wichita in a pair of games Friday, Feb. 4 and Saturday, Feb. 5.
