PrairieThunder Experience "Awful Night" Losing 3-2 in Shootout to Fort Wayne

The Bloomington PrairieThunder squandered a 2-0 lead on Friday night and lost 3-2 in a shootout to the Fort Wayne Komets. Bloomington (20-13-2) scored the first two goals of the game from Jason Dale and Brett Holmberg. Fort Wayne (13-17-5) tied the game in the second period on goals from Tab Lardner and Art Podshendyalov. After a scoreless third period and overtime frame, the Komets Tab Lardner scored the only goal in the shootout for the game winner.

It was Bloomington's first loss in shootout after going 3-0 this season. The start of the game was delayed almost two hours, starting at 8:55pm due to the Fort Wayne Komets bus breaking down on route to Bloomington on Friday afternoon. The PrairieThunder organization thanks all of the fans who remained for the game at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.

The PrairieThunder and Komets bus back to Fort Wayne for a return match on Saturday evening. Bloomington's next home game is this Sunday evening (1/23) when they host the Colorado Eagles at a special 6:05pm start at U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
