Inland Empire 66ers News Release
Inland Empire 66ers Starter Will Be Active for Tuesday's Mid-Season Classic San Bernardino, CA - The Inland Empire now have four players on their way to San Jose to take part in the All- Star game festivities, after Kramer Sneed's selection to the active All Star roster. Mark Sappington and Zach Borenstein will not be active for the contest, but are still on the All-Star team, as is Alex Yarbrough who is scheduled to start the game for the California League squad.
Kramer Sneed is third in the league in ERA (3.12), and wins (7), fourth among starting pitchers in batting average against (.228), and fifth in walks and hits per inning pitched (1.16). His selection culminates an incredible first month of the season for the left-hander who was traded to the Angels just days prior to the team breaking camp at spring training and heading to San Bernardino to start the season.
"I was just trying to make a roster out of spring training and now here we are," said Sneed on his journey through 2013. "Individually this is the highest honor I've ever received. It's been a good run, and hopefully we can keep it going."
Zach Borenstein and Mark Sappington will attend the All Star game but will not participate in the game. The four players on the roster is the highest total for Inland Empire since becoming an Angels affiliate in 2011.
The 2013 California-Carolina League All-Star Game will be played in San Jose, CA at Municipal Stadium, the home of the San Jose Giants.
