Visalia Rawhide News Release
VISALIA - It was a slugfest from the get go, and each team seemed to have a response for the opposing offensive attack. But it was the San Jose Giants who would outlast the Visalia Rawhide, as the Giants outslugged the Rawhide 10-8 to earn a split of the final series of the first half on Sunday afternoon at Rawhide Ballpark.
Devin Harris led the way for the Giants. He went 3-for-3 with a walk and a sac fly, homering twice to drive in a total of five RBI. Rawhide pitching did not have an answer for him all day. The Giants scored in six of their nine frames on the day.
Matt Helm was impressive for the Rawhide as well. He also had two homers, going 2-for-4 with four RBI.
The Rawhide finish the first half of the season with a solid 39-31 record and will start up the second half of the season in Modesto on June 20th. The All-Star Game will be played at Municipal Stadium in San Jose on June 18th. The Rawhide will send Gerson Montilla and Jake Barrett to represent the Rawhide as California League All-Stars. Jake Lamb will also be honored on the roster, but is unlikely to play due to injury.
