
Komets Host Quad City Friday; Three Games Slated For Week 16

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets only had one game scheduled last week, a 1-0 setback at Muskegon Friday. It was the first Fort Wayne regulation loss in 10 games and most Komet streaks were ended including a six-game win streak. P.C. Drouin had a six-game point streak and four-game goal scoring streak snapped. Konstantin Shafranov ended a five-game point streak while Colin Chaulk and Leo Thomas each had three-game point streaks halted. Goalie Tim Haun continues with a seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-0-1) and five-game win streak going into week 16 and the Komets maintain a five-game home win string.
The Komets get back into action with three games slated for week 16. The week starts with a trip to Port Huron Tuesday for a 7pm faceoff. The Icehawks (27-9-0-3) are in a first-place battle with Muskegon, trailing the Lumberjacks by two points and leading the third-place Komets (23-12-0-2) by nine points. Port Huron is 3-1-0-1 in their last five games after winning their last two outings. Tuesday's game is the third of five meetings at McMorran Arena where the Komets are winless so far this season.
The Komets return home to host the Quad City Mallards Friday at 8pm after an 11-day home break for the Circus at the Coliseum. The Komets grounded the Mallards in their last home game before the Circus 5-3 and lead the series 6-0-0-1. The Mallards host Flint Wednesday before making their fifth of eight trips to Fort Wayne Friday.
The Komets complete the week with a return trip to Port Huron Sunday for a 5pm matinee.
Drouin, Thomas and Icy at Verizon Saturday.....with no game slated again for this Saturday, Komets P.C. Drouin and Leo Thomas will make an appearance at the Verizon Plus store on Coldwater Road, in the Jo Ann Fabrics Shopping Center, Saturday, Jan. 23 from 1pm-3pm. Icy the eagle will also be on hand to greet Komet fans while learning all of the newest technology available through Verizon.
Book Signings at Komet Kuarters Saturday.....Kaleigh Schrock and Matt Syroczynski will join Bob Chase and Blake Sebring at Komet Kuarters, on Coliseum Blvd. by Carlos O'Kelly's, Saturday from 1pm-3pm. Fans will have a chance to stop by and meet Schrock and Syroczynski while having books penned by Chase and Sebring signed. Copies of Bob Chase's "Live From Radio Rinkside" and Sebring's "Legends of The Komets" and "Tales of The Komets" will also be available.
Friday night Marathon Nights.....Friday nights are Marathon Nights at Komet home games. Fans can take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-free ticket offer with two fill-ups when the Komets host the Quad City Mallards this Friday, Jan. 29 at 8pm. Fill Up Cards are available at participating Marathon stations.
