Fort Wayne, IN --- The Komets will start week 22 of the 2006-07 UHL season with a 38-19-3 record and 79 points after 60 games. It's the 3rd time in 9 UHL seasons the Komets have won 38 games after 60 played.
The Komets completed week 21 dropping all 3 games played for the first 3-game winless streak of the season. Wednesday the Komets dropped a 4-3 shootout at Quad City. Friday the Komets suffered a 6-1 setback to complete the 2-game visit at Quad City. Saturday the Komets returned home and fell to the visiting Port Huron Flags 4-0.
This week the Komets will skate 4 games in 5 nights. 3 of the 4 games will be at home. Wednesday the Quad City Mallards visit for a 7:30pm faceoff. It's the 10th of 11 meetings this season and 4th of 5 in Fort Wayne. The Komets lead the series 5-3-1 and are 2-1-0 in 3 previous meetings in Fort Wayne. The Mallard's 2 wins over the Komets last week are the only 2 Quad City wins in their last 6 games (2-3-1). The Mallards are coming off a 4-3 shootout loss Sunday at Rockford.
Friday the Komets skate at Flint at 7:30pm. It's the 5th of 7 meetings this year and 3rd of 4 at the Perani Arena. The Komets lead the series 3-1-0 and are undefeated in 2 previous meetings at Flint this season. The Komets edged the Generals 4-3 at Flint in a shootout in the last meeting Feb. 24. The Generals are 3-6-3 in their last 12 games, 1-4-1 in their last 6, and will host Elmira Wednesday before welcoming the Komets Friday.
Saturday the Komets return to Fort Wayne for a home double-header weekend. Bloomington visits for a 7:30pm Saturday faceoff. The Thunder clipped the Komets 2-1 at Fort Wayne in the last meeting Feb. 18. The Komets hold a 5-3-0 series edge over Bloomington. Saturday's game is the 9th of 10 total meetings this season. The PrairieThunder are winless in their last 3 outings and are 3-3-2 in their last 8. Bloomington skates at Kalamazoo Friday before traveling to Fort Wayne Saturday.
Sunday the Komets complete the week with a 5pm faceoff against conference rival Rockford. The IceHogs, currently leading the West, are on the road this week at Chicago Wednesday, Muskegon Friday and Kalamazoo Saturday before visiting Fort Wayne Sunday. The IceHogs have won the last 2 meetings with the Komets. Fort Wayne leads the series 4-3-0 after 7 meetings.

Leading Komets....center J.C. Ruid continues to lead the Komets with 35 goals, 7 game winning goals, and is 2nd overall in the UHL with 75 points.....Guy Dupuis (D) leads with 49 assists, 2nd overall in the UHL, and leads all UHL scorers with 30 power play assists.....Mario Larocque leads the Komets with +15 and tops UHL defensemen with 19 goals and 13 power play goals.....Kevin St. Pierre leads UHL goalies with 33 wins and in minutes with 3029:23 becoming the first UHL goalie this season to break the 3,000 minute mark

Season Ticket Exchange Night.....this Wednesday is another Season Ticket Exchange Night when the Komets host the Quad City Mallards at 7:30pm. Komet season ticket holders are encouraged to turn in their unused tickets from previous games this season for tickets to this Wednesday night's game. Unused season tickets can be exchanged for tickets at the Coliseum Ticket Office.
Komet Hockey on the air.....most of the Komet games are broadcast on WOWO Radio AM 1190 this year with Bob Chase at the Fort Wayne microphone for his 54th consecutive season. Again this year, some games will be aired on WKJG/ESPN Radio AM 1380 as an alternative when conflicts occur.
