Komets Announce Playoff Roster

Fort Wayne, IN - The Komets announced their playoff roster for the 2016 ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs Tuesday. The roster consists of 23 players total. 19 are on the active list, two are on reserve and two players are on the playoff eligible list.

Players on the roster include: Forwards Taylor Crunk, Brett Perlini, David Friedmann, Troy Bourke, Mike Embach, Shawn Szydlowski, Paul Crowder, Jamie Schaafsma, Kyle Thomas, Trevor Cheek, Garrett Thompson and Garrett Meurs (reserve). Defensemen Gabriel Beaupre, Cody Corbett, Jordon Southorn, Justin Hamonic, Will Weber, Cody Sol and Randy Cure (reserve). Goaltenders Pat Nagle and Spencer Martin. Players on the Playoff Eligible list include forward Alex Belzile and defenseman Mason Geertsen.

The Komets completed the 2015-16 campaign winning the Midwest Division and earning second seed in the Western Conference along with home-ice advantage for the first round. The Cyclones locked up seventh seed setting the stage for the fourth post-season meeting between Fort Wayne and a Cincinnati team over the history of the two clubs.

The Fort Wayne/Cincinnati Western Conference quarter-finals best-of-seven series will follow a 2-3-2 format and open in Fort Wayne Friday at 8pm. Game two is slated for Saturday at 7:30pm in Fort Wayne before the series switches to Cincinnati for games 3, 4, and if necessary, 5. If needed, games 6 and 7 will be held in Fort Wayne.
