
Knights Rally, But Fall In Extra Innings

FORT MILL, S.C. - The term "no lead is safe at the Castle" held true as the Charlotte Knights scored four runs in the bottom of the 9th to tie Indianapolis 7-7 and send the game to extra innings. But the Indians managed to score in the 11th and hold off a second Knights rally to win 8-7.
Knights shortstop Tomas Perez went 3-6 with a three-run home run in the 6th. Perez had five RBI on the night. Teammate Ryan Sweeney was 2-4 with an RBI.
Indians outfielder Nick Green got Indianapolis off to a 3-0 lead in the 2nd with a three-run shot. Chris Truby made it 5-0 with a two-run shot of his own in the top of the 6th. The Indians collected 15 hits on the night.
Dan Kolb (2-1, 3.15) picked up the win for the Indians going 1 2/3. Jesse Chavez (S, 2) got his second save of the season. Shaun Babula (2-21, 2.97) suffered his first loss of the season for the Knights.
Charlotte and Indianapolis will play the second game of their four-game series on Sunday as Gavin Floyd (3-3, 3.86) will take the mound for the Knights. RHP Bryan Bullington (9-2, 2.75) gets the start for the Indians. Game time is 2:15 p.m.
