June 9, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Toledo Mud Hens News Release
Detroit Tigers' starting LHP Kenny Rogers will be making a rehab appearance at 6:30 p.m. at Fifth Third Field on Sunday, June 10 versus the Norfolk Tides. The 42-year-old lefty was placed on the disabled list on March 29 after he underwent surgery to remove a blood clot and repair two arteries in his left shoulder.
Rogers was signed by Detroit as a free agent on December 14, 2005 and this is his 18th season in the major leagues. In 2006, his first season with the Tigers, he had a record of 17-8 with an ERA of 3.84 and started 33 games.
This is Rogers' second trip onto the disabled list in his major league career. His only other one came in 2001 when he was placed on the DL for thoracic outlet syndrome in his left shoulder while he was with Texas.
Entering the 2007 season, Rogers is ranked seventh among all active left-handed pitchers with a .598 winning percentage (207-139) during his 18-year major league career. This is Rogers' first appearance with the Mud Hens
