Knights Bow To Rivermen, 4-0
December 30, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Abbotsford Heat News Release
The Peoria Rivermen ran their winning streak against the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights to eleven games with a 4-0 win on Saturday night at the Civic Auditorium. Jon DiSalvatore had two goals and Chris Beckford-Tseu stopped 19 shots for the shutout.
DiSalvatore got the only goal the Rivermen would need on a fluke play late in the first. With two Knights covering him, he got his hands free and whipped a blind shot past Brent Krahn.
DiSalvatore made it 2-0 late in the second period. He knocked in a feed from Trent Whitfield in the final minute for his eighth goal of the year. Four have come against the Knights.
Roman Polak added a powerplay goal and Charles Linglet an even strength tally in the third for the 4-0 final. Krahn made 22 saves in the loss.
The Knights are now 19-12-2-0.
Three Stars: 1. Jon DiSalvatore (PEO) - 2 goals, game-winner; 2. Trent Whitfield (PEO) - 2 assists; 3. Peter Sejna (PEO) - 2 assists
