CHICAGO, Illinois - Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled right wing Carl Corazzini from the Admirals.
Corazzini, 28, is a 5'9", 176 lb. right wing from Framingham, MA. He skated in four contests for the Blackhawks earlier this season and registered one assist and two penalty minutes.
Corazzini made his NHL debut with the Boston Bruins during the 2003-04 season. In 16 career NHL games, he has two goals and one assist with two penalty minutes. He signed a one-year contract with Chicago on July 17, 2006.
Corazzini has appeared in 27 games for the Admirals this season, scoring 17 goals and adding 13 assists for 30 points and four penalty minutes. He netted two goals - including the game-winner in the last minute of regulation - in last night's 4-3 victory for Norfolk over the Lowell Devils.
With the Admirals, Corazzini is ranked third in goals, fifth in points and first in game-winning goals (4). He also is tied for fourth in the AHL in game-winning goals. Corazzini ranked fourth on the Admirals' roster during the 2005-06 season with 55 points (26g, 29a).
Norfolk is in Hershey, Pennsylvania tonight to kick off the first of three straight matches against their East Division rivals, the Hershey Bears. The faceoff tonight is at 7:00 at Giant Center. The Admirals next lace up the skates at Scope next Wednesday and Friday, January 3 and 5, against the Bears at 7:15 each night.
