December 7, 2018 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Ice Hockey Federation of Russia has announced its preliminary roster for the 2019 World Junior Championships in British Columbia, revealing that Rampage forward Klim Kostin has been invited for the second consecutive season.
Kostin, 19, is in his second professional season with the Rampage. The 31st overall pick in the 2017 NHL Draft, Kostin played for Russia in last year's World Junior Championships and tallied five goals and eight points in five games. The St. Louis Blues prospect led the Russian team in scoring and ranked eighth overall in the tournament.
The Penza, Russia native has four goals and nine points in 25 games with San Antonio this season, and he leads the team with 46 penalty minutes.
"Klim is having a good season," said St. Louis Blues Director of Player Development Tim Taylor. "It's always a special opportunity to represent your country, and this will be great to further Klim's development as a pro player for the future."
In two AHL seasons with the Rampage, Kostin has collected ten goals and 37 points in 92 games.
The U-20 World Junior Championships will be held in Vancouver and Victoria from December 26th to January 5th, as host Canada looks to defend its 2018 gold medal finish.
The Rampage return home on Saturday night to host the Milwaukee Admirals at the AT&T Center. Saturday night is the 14th annual Teddy Bear Toss, presented by HEB. Puck-drop is scheduled for 7 p.m., with the game available on The Ticket 760AM and on AHLTV.
