Kitchener Rangers Announce Educational Partnership with Victus Academy
August 26, 2021 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kitchener Rangers News Release
The Kitchener Rangers have announced that Victus Academy, the Kitchener-based private school and hockey academy, will be the educational provider for Rangers players starting this September.
Victus Academy already understands the rigours of high-performing student-athletes and can provide more individualized instruction to the Rangers players, due to their small school environment and class sizes of a maximum of 15 students.
This also gives the Kitchener Rangers organization the opportunity to be flexible in their schedule, knowing that the academics of their players won't be jeopardized.
"The Rangers organization is very excited to be partnering with Victus Academy. This partnership will provide our high school players with a safe and intimate setting where they can continue to work towards their educational goals while being student athletes playing in the OHL. We look forward to seeing our players benefit on and off the ice from this partnership with Victus" says Kitchener Rangers General Manager and Head Coach Mike McKenzie.
Matthew Schmidt, President of Victus Academy, believes that this is a natural fit for both organizations noting "the goals of Victus Academy and the Kitchener Rangers are aligned: to provide the best opportunity for student-athletes to succeed. We understand that these players have a rigorous hockey schedule and we want to ensure that their academics remain a priority. As a hockey academy in Kitchener, we are extremely excited to be partnering with our hometown Kitchener Rangers."
