Niagara 6 at Kingston 3
Friday, January 25
Bobby Mignardi made a drop-pass along the wing to Nathan Moon who flicked it back to Mignardi finding Justin Levac (5) in the slot scoring on the powerplay at 3:12 of the first period for a 1-0 Frontenacs lead. 23-seconds after an early second period goal by the IceDogs, rookie Taylor Doherty (2) reclaimed Kingston's one-goal lead scoring from the right of the Niagara net set-up by Josh Brittain and Matt Kang. Flying down the right wing Josh Brittain (15) scored driving to the net on a backhand at 9:58 of the second period with assists to Matt Kang and rookie Zack Fenwick. At 11:02 Frontenacs' Bobby Mignardi and goaltender John Murray were ejected from the game and were each issued a 2-games suspension; rookie Mavric Parks filled the void in net. Outshooting the Frontenacs 37 to 33, Niagara doubled Kingston 6-3 final. Stars of the Game: 1. Jordan Foreman, 2. Luca Caputi and 3. Josh Brittain.

Josh Brittain set-up Matt Kang (20) scoring on a wide open net at 18:46 on a first period powerplay also assisted by Andris Dzerins tying the game 1-1. Kyle Paige (6) scored a fast short-handed second period goal jumping on a loose puck and beating rookie Adam Courchaine unassisted at 9:33 cutting Ottawa's lead to one-goal. The Frontenacs import rookie Andris Dzerins (11) tied the game at 14:49 of the second period on a stellar play set-up by Matt Kang and rookie Zack Fenwick just 3-seconds after an Ottawa penalty expired. Kevin Christmas found Josh Brittain (16) right in front of the net with a text-book perfect pass scoring with just over one minute remaining in the second period, also assisted by Andris Dzerins, for the one-goal Frontenacs lead. 0.8 seconds left in the game and Frontenacs' Josh Brittain (17) scored his second of the day, unassisted on the empty Ottawa net. *Total shots on goal with Mavric Parks in the Kingston net 32 each with the Frontenacs beating the 67's 5-3 final. Stars of the Game: 1. Andris Dzerins, 2. Thomas Kiriakou and 3. Matthew Kang.
Windsor 3 at Kingston 1
Sunday, January 27
In their second and final meeting of the regular season Frontenacs rookie Jesse Brown (10) snuffed out the Spitfires hopes for a shutout with his unassisted goal beating Andrew Engelage at 6:05 of the third period on a wraparound. *Total shots on goal 37 to 23 for Windsor beating Kingston 3-1 final. Stars of the Game: 1. Taylor Hall, 2. Justin Shugg and 3. Nathan Moon.
*Tommy Kratyk was called up from the Greater Kingston Jr. Frontenacs (Major Midget) to back-up goaltender Mavric Parks.

Frontenac & Leeds Milk Producers Player of the Week for January 28, 2007 Frontenacs forward Nathan Moon may not be the biggest player on the ice but he makes his presence known when he screens the oppositions goaltender or flies down the ice with the intensity of a bolt of lighting. This Belleville native is the product of Quinte Red Devils minor hockey when he was picked by the Kingston Frontenacs in the 2nd Round, 34th Overall at the 2006 Priority Selection. NHL Central Scouting Midseason Rankings (released January 2008) for North American Skaters has Nathan Moon ranked 118th. Including an assist against Niagara on January 25th and 3rd Star of the Game honours against Windsor on January 27th, Moon has extending his Ontario Hockey League sophomore season record of 45 games with 17 Goals for 39 Points and a -31 Rating.
