Kalamazoo Kings News Release
In a method of victory that is just getting silly, the Kings notched their tenth walkoff victory of 2009 with a 5-4 win over the Traverse City Beach Bums Tuesday night. The Kings fell behind 4-1 only to rally with three runs in the eighth to tie the game and then Josh Short knocked in pinch runner Scott Billak with a bloop single down the first base line to secure the victory in the bottom of the ninth. The hit capped off a 3 for 5 night for Josh that included a double and a HR. Starter Joe DiPietro threw 6 1/3 innings of three run ball while striking out five to put in the quality start.
