Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti News Release

The Midwest Sliders of Ypsilanti road trip gets worse as they fall to the Kalamazoo Kings 9-2 Wednesday night at Homer Stryker Stadium. The Sliders have now lost three of the four games so far this road trip.

Kyle Kearcher made the start for Midwest, and allowed three runs in the first five innings which kept the Sliders in the game.

Bryan Bonner scored in the fifth off a wild pitch, to cut the Kings lead to 3-1.

Then Kearcher's start began to fall apart. He allowed the first two batters in the sixth to double, and later allowed a two-run homer in the inning. Kearcher got the loss throwing 5 2/3 innings allowing six runs.

Midwest scrapped together three hits in the bottom of the ninth to push across another run.

Thursday's middle game of the series will feature the Sliders Jeff Fischer (3-2, 4.44) against Joe DiPietro (5-4, 4.09) at 7:05 p.m.
