LOVES PARK, Ill. - The Power Connection is taking over Road Ranger Stadium on Monday, Aug. 3, and now fireworks will be over the stadium too.

The Rockford RiverHawks announced on Thursday that the Power Connection is sponsoring a postgame fireworks show following the 7:05 p.m. game against Evansville.

The Power Connection has already bought every available seat in the stadium for the game and is offering the entire Stateline community a night of professional baseball on its tab.

"Fans will have a fun and entertaining night," said Brad Sholes, RiverHawks director of ticketing. "The Power Connection is going above and beyond by generously sponsoring a postgame fireworks show."

The Power Connection is a management-labor cooperative between the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 364 and the Northern Illinois Chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association.

"This is our third year doing this event," said Pat Tomlin, IBEW Local 364 president. "The game is one way we give back to the community and we hope to keep it an annual event."

Seats for the buyout are going quickly. Fans can visit the team website to print a voucher for tickets to the game. They can also visit the box office, which will be open during any day of the RiverHawks' upcoming six-game homestand, beginning Saturday, August 1.

The RiverHawks are members of the Frontier League, a 12-team independent professional baseball league in its 17th season. Advertising and ticket information is available by calling (815) 885-2255. Fans can also visit the RiverHawks online at www.rockfordriverhawks.com. Most games are broadcast live on ESPN 1380, and on the team website.
