July 29, 2009, Evansville, IN - In a game with the latest start time in Frontier League history, the Otters fell to the Rockford Riverhawks 5-3 Wednesday night at Bosse Field. The game started at 10:35pm CDT, part of "Second Shift Night" at Bosse Field.

Rockford jumped out to a 1-0 lead on a Robert Sabates RBI single in the first inning. The Otters answered though, scoring on an RBI double by Luke Hetherington and a sacrifice fly from Frank Meade. The Riverhawks would tie the game the next half inning when Jono Brooks hit his fifth home run of the year, a solo shot to left-centerfield. The' Hawks would take the lead in the fourth inning when Doug Sanders singled with two out, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on Alex Bardeguez's single. Bardeguez would be heard from again in the sixth inning, when he hit a two-run home run for a 5-2 lead.

The Otters would make their final push in the eighth inning, as Luke Hetherington began the inning with a walk and Frank Meade followed with a single. After a Cameron Satterwhite fly ball allowed Hetherington to tag up and advance to third base, Tyler Diamond came to the plate and singled him home. With the deficit closed to 5-3 and the tying runs on base, pinch hitters Eric Blackwell and Josh Howard were retired to end the threat. The Otters went down in order in the ninth inning.
