Kings Assign Lewis To Manchester

LOS ANGELES, CA - The Los Angeles Kings, the parent club of the Manchester Monarchs, have assigned forward Trevor Lewis to the Monarchs, Kings President/General Manager Dean Lombardi announced today.

Lewis, 22, has played in five games with the Kings this season and has recorded zero points. Last season, he had three points (1-23) in six games with the Kings, scoring his first NHL goal Dec. 20, 2008 at Detroit (his second NHL game).

The 6-foot, 199-pound native of Salt Lake City, Utah also played in 75 games with the Monarchs last season, ranking second on the club with 20 goals, 31 assists and 51 points. Lewis was also second on Manchester with seven power-play goals and led the team with four short-handed goals, which was tied for second in the AHL.

Lewis was originally selected by the Kings in the first round (17th overall) in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
