
Kingfish Top Jackrabbits to Continue Home Winning Streak

Kenosha, WI - The Kenosha Kingfish defeated the Kokomo Jackrabbits 5-3 at Historic Simmons Field to take game one of a two-game set.
With the win, the home team have extended their home winning streak to 6 in a row, as well as winning 8 of their last 9 games. Solo home run shots from both Miguel Useche and Matt Wolfe assisted the Kingfish in coming out on top against Kokomo.
Starter Cole Tolbert (Ole Miss) was only able to go 1.0 inning, giving up two earned runs and striking out two batters. Frank Pleasac (Bethel College) earned himself the win as he relieved Tolbert for 5.0 innings and surrendering no runs.
Eckerd College's Tucker Shalley came in in the top of the 9th to close out the game. Shalley qualified for his 7th save of the season.
With the win, Kenosha (17-14) sits in fourth place in the Great Lakes East division; they remain at 3.5 games back from the first place Traverse City Pit-Spitters.
Kokomo falls to a 12-20 record while being 9 games out of first.
These two teams will face each other again on Saturday night. First pitch will be at 6:35 PM CST.
