Kingfish Squeak out 2-1 Road Win

Mequon, Wis. - The Kingfish (10-15) snuck out of Mequon with a 2-1 victory tonight over the Chinooks. The Kingfish were only able to pick up three hits, but still came away with the victory.

Both runs for the Kingfish were scored in the top of the third inning off of a pair of Luke Sommerfeld wild pitches. Lakeshore's lone run was scored off of a double play in the 7th.

Alex Hamilton (1-1) had a superb night on the mound and earned his first win of the season. He pitched 6 innings of action and allowed 2 hits, 1 unearned run, and struck out 5.

Bobby Skogsbergh worked one lone inning of scoreless relief, and Ryan Orr shut the door the rest of the way. Orr notched his second save of the summer with 2 scoreless innings pitched, featuring 3 punch-outs.

Marty Bechina went 1 for 2 at the plate with 2 walks. Pat McInerney drew a team high 3 walks on the day, and both Rob Henry and Dylan Rosa went 1 for 4. The Kingfish will host Battle Creek for a two game series beginning tomorrow night at 6:05 CT.
