Madison Mallards News Release

The Mallards faithful have become very familiar with Colin Brockhouse (Ball State) so far in 2016. The right-hander will be making his fourth start of the season, all of which have been at home, at 7:05 pm. Madison (14-9) will be looking to bounce back against the Wisconsin Woodchucks (11-10) after falling to them a night ago.

Brockhouse has given the fans something to cheer about in his starts, as he boasts a 2-0 record with a 2.87 ERA. In the home opener against Rockford, Brockhouse took a no-hitter into the 7th inning, striking out seven in his victory. In 15.2 innings of work this season, Brockhouse has struck out 12 with a 1.47 WHIP.

Drafted in the 37th round by the Pittsburgh Pirates in this year's draft, Brockhouse will be matched with another pitcher that is no stranger to getting the call on draft day. The Woodchucks will throw Jonah Dipoto (UC-San Diego), who was drafted in the 38th round by the Angels in 2015.

Dipoto has yet to pick up a decision in either of his starts in 2016, posting a 7.04 ERA across 7.2 innings. He has struck out five with a WHIP of 2.36.

Sam Armstrong (Jacksonville) turned in three RBIs in last night's 10-7 loss, all of which came on a home run that contributed to the Mallards three home run night. Madison, leading the league in long balls at 26, nine more than the second-place team, will look to continue their power surge this evening.

Tonight's game against the Wisconsin Woodchucks is set for 7:05 pm and will feature the ZOOperstars. The contest will also be the Sun Prairie St. Mary's Emergency Center Night. Tickets are available for purchase by visiting MallardsBaseball.com, calling the Mallards ticket office at 608-246-4277, or stopping in the ticket office at 2920 N Sherman Ave.
