Kenosha Kingfish News Release

Rockford, IL - The Kenosha Kingfish fell to the Rockford Rivets 5-4, in walk-off fashion, to split the team's first road trip of the season.

After the second rain delayed start in as many nights, Kenosha fell short to Rockford on a Khalil Walker (Eastern Arizona College) safety squeeze bunt that sent Bradley White (South Suburban College) sprinting across the plate.

Carson Roberts (University of Illinois Chicago) led the Rivets' offensive effort with a productive day at the plate. He went 3-for-4 with a double and a pair of RBI.

Mason Morris (Ole Miss) had a 2-for-4 day at the plate with a pair of RBI to give the Kingfish a temporary 4-2 lead in the sixth frame.

Montevallo's Michael Morris (1-1) got the win after pitching an inning and two thirds of shutout baseball with two strikeouts.

Ole Miss hurler Cole Tolbert (0-1) registered his first blown save of the season after giving up the game-winning run on two walks and a hit.

With the win, Rockford (1-3) sits in a tie for fifth in the Great Lakes East with the Battle Creek Battle Jacks.

After splitting their second straight series, Kenosha (2-2) holds a tie for third in the East with the Kokomo Jackrabbits.

The Kingfish will begin a two-game set at home against the Traverse City Pit Spitters (3-1) on June 2. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM CST.
