Kingfish Acquire Tucker

Baton Rouge Kingfish News Release

The Baton Rouge Kingfish announced today that they have acquired defenseman Kevin Tucker in a trade with the Peoria Rivermen for cash.

Tucker played 8 games with Peoria this season picking up 1 goal and 1 assist for 2 points and 10 penalty minutes.

"He's a physical defenseman," said Kingfish head coach Cam Brown, "and he's not afraid to make people pay a price for coming to the front of the net."

Tucker comes to the Kingfish after spending the last two seasons with the Rivermen, where he played 64 games and amassed 1 goal and 6 assists for 7 points. In addition, he was a plus +14 over the time span.

"He's a proven penalty killer," said Brown, "and he should help us fill some holes when we are shorthanded."

The Mississauga, Ontario native was a +1 while picking up 10 penalty minutes in 14 playoff games last season with the Rivermen.

"Kevin is coming from a team that picked up 90 points last year and this year they (Peoria) are already 5 games over .500."

Tucker will not be available this weekend when the Kingfish host the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Saturday and the Arkansas Riverblades on Sunday.
