Ottawa Lynx News Release
Syracuse opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first inning, putting the Lynx in an early hole. The Lynx finally evened the score with a run of their own in the bottom of the sixth, when Gookie Dawkins slammed a two-out double to left field, moving to third base on Brennan King's single and scoring on an RBI single by Gary Burnham.
The Chiefs quickly re-established their one-run lead with a run in the top of the seventh, but the Lynx tied it again in the bottom of the eighth. Gary Burnham reached second on a throwing error by the Chiefs' Russ Adams. Burnham was lifted for the speedy Joe Thurston, who promptly moved to third base on a wild pitch. Matt Padgett cashed in Thurston with an RBI single, knotting the score at 2-2.
Brennan King put an end to the game with his two-run walkoff home run in the bottom of the ninth, scoring Javon Moran in front of him, to win the game.
