Richmond, VA - The Richmond Braves beat the Louisville Bats 5-1 Sunday at The Diamond. The Braves hit back-to-back-to-back home runs in the sixth inning to snap a tie and earn their third straight win.
Louisville grabbed a 1-0 lead in the fourth on a solo home run by Joey Votto. The Braves tied the game in the home half on an RBI single by Brayan Pena. Richmond shattered the tie in the sixth, hitting three consecutive home runs at The Diamond for the first time since April 25, 2004 vs. Durham. Martin Prado, Brandon Jones, and Brayan Pena smacked homers to give Richmond a 4-1 lead. The Braves added a run in the seventh on an RBI single by Gregor Blanco.
Manny Acosta earned the win with 2.1 innings of scoreless relief. Chad Paronto earned his second save in two days. Braves starter Trey Hodges struck out six in 5.2 innings. Kirk Sarloos took the loss. Jones and Barbaro Canizares had three hits for Richmond. Chris Dickerson had two hits for the Bats.
