August 5, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Buffalo Bisons News Release

TODAY'S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees in the fourth games of a five-game in four-day series from PNC Field (5:00 p.m.). Trailing 1-2, the Herd can even up the series with a victory tonight. Buffalo is currently 4-5 during their season-long 11-game roadtrip that ends after Monday. On the mound tonight will be LHP Cliff Lee. The southpaw took the loss last Tuesday in Syracuse despite allowing just two runs in 5.2 innings of work. The Yankees will counter with RHP Matt DeSalvo.

GO NORTH: All 29 of the Bisons remaining games are against IL North division teams. Buffalo's 31-20 record within the North is the best among the six teams. After the conclusion of this series, the Bisons will play 17 of the next 21 games at Dunn Tire Park. Each divisional rival will visit Buffalo during that stretch.

RUN PRODUCER: Ryan Mulhern has collected an RBI in seven straight games and nine of his last ten games. His 65RBI rank T5th in the IL. Mulhern is also working on a 10-game hit streak where he has averaged .457 (16-35) since July 27 with three doubles, a home run, nine RBI and nine runs scored.

GREAT 5-6 PUNCH: Ben Francisco and Ryan Mulhern are owners of the 5th and the 6th best averages in the International League. Francisco got enough plate appearances on Friday to "re-qualify" 5th in the IL with his .316 mark. Ryan Mulhern has raised his average 15 points during his hit streak (to .314) to take over the 6th spot in the league.

MONSTER TRIP: So far this roadtrip, Jason Cooper has hit .438 (14-32) with five doubles, three triples, two home runs, seven RBI, six runs scored, five walks and two stolen bases. His slugging percentage in the nine games has been .969. The time away from home has raised Cooper's batting average 25 points from .242 to .267.

INSTANT IMPACT: Infielder Asdrubal Cabrera has reached base in all seven games since his promotion to the Bisons on July 30. He has chipped in a .345 batting average (10-29) with three doubles, two RBI and six runs scored. Defensively, he's also played errorless baseball in five starts at shortstop and two at second base.
