Frederick Keys News Release
Kinston, NC - The Frederick Keys will be well represented in the prestigious Arizona Fall League as outfielder Matt Angle, corner infielder Brandon Waring and athletic trainer Pat Wesley have been selected by the Orioles to be a part of the Phoenix Desert Dogs.
Angle has had a fantastic season as the Keys everyday leadoff man and centerfielder. He has batted over .300 in three of the season's five months. The Orioles 7th Round Pick in the 2007 draft out of Ohio State is the organizational leader in stolen bases with 36. He currently is riding an 11-game hit streak and has hits in 22-of-24 games in August.
Waring, who rooms with Angle and was drafted in the same round by the Reds, will be a part of the team's taxi squad able to play in two games a week. The Keys infielder has had a prolific campaign becoming just the third Key ever to hit 25 home runs. Waring has also driven home 88 runs, looking to be the first Frederick player to reach 90 RBI's since 1996. He has the chance to be the first ever Frederick player to win the league's most valuable player award in the 21-year history of the franchise.
Wesley is in his first season in Frederick and the accolades continue to pile up for the amicable athletic trainer. A two-time South Atlantic League Athletic Trainer of the Year, Wesley is headed to the Arizona Fall League for a first time in his career.
Three former Keys were named to the Phoenix Desert Dogs roster as well. Reliever Eddie Gamboa (2009), promoted from Frederick just eight days ago, is headed after posting a 10-0 record over three different levels this season. Starting pitcher Brandon Erbe (2007-08), who made more starts with the Keys (52) than any other in franchise history and first baseman Brandon Snyder (2008) who has propelled up the organizational ladder to Triple-A Norfolk in 2009 will also play in the fall league.

Frederick returns home for its final homestand of the season Friday, August 28th as the Keys take on Myrtle Beach at 7:00 p.m. There will be a beer tasting in the Keys Café and Fireworks will follow the game.
