Kevin Bradshaw Named Aberdeen IronBirds Manager

ABERDEEN, MD - The Baltimore Orioles have announced that Kevin Bradshaw will manage the Aberdeen IronBirds for the remainder of the 2016 season. Bradshaw will report to Aberdeen after beginning the 2016 season as the field coach for the Gulf Coast League Orioles.

NOTES ON BRADSHAW:

Bradshaw enters his first year as the field coach for the GCL Orioles after serving as the Orioles Minor League Infield Coordinator in 2015...Spent 2013-14 in his second stint as the minor league infield coordinator with the Detroit Tigers after serving in the same capacity from 2008-2010...Was the Tigers' minor league field coordinator from 2011-12...Prior to assuming the role of infield coordinator in 2008, he spent 14 seasons as a manager in the Tigers system...Began his managerial career with Class-A Bristol in 1994, before managing the Gulf Coast League Tigers (1995-98, 2000, 2004-06), Class-A Oneonta (1999), Double-A Erie (2002-03), and Class-A Lakeland (2001, 2007)...Was named the 2000 Dwight Lowry Award winner as the Tigers Player Development Man of the Year after leading the GCL Tigers to a second-place finish in the Eastern Division with a record of 34-26...Managed the North Shore Honu in the Hawaii Winter League following the 2007 season, guiding the club to a 26-12 record and the league's championship...Managed the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League following the 2009 season, winning the league's championship after posting an 18-14 record...Also served as a coach with Double-A London in 1990, Class-A Bristol in 1991, Triple-A Toledo in 1992, Lakeland in 1993, and Double-A Trenton in 1994.

PLAYING CAREER:

Prior to joining the Orioles, spent his entire baseball career with the Tigers organization, playing four seasons at the minor league level (1986-89) before he began his coaching career in 1990.
