FRISCO, Texas - The Frisco RoughRiders only collected two hits on Friday night, but used strong pitching to capture a 2-1 win over the Wichita Wind Surge from Riders Field. Starting pitcher Zak Kent paced the Riders attack from the mound, tying a career-best seven innings in the victory.

Kent (2-3) earned the win for Frisco (27-21, 63-54) by holding the Wind Surge (31-18, 66-51) to just one run on three hits while striking out seven and walking just one. It was the third time in his career and the second time this season that Kent had thrown seven innings. Both seven-inning outings this year have been against Wichita.

The RoughRiders found the scoreboard in the third inning when Josh Stowers stole third as part of a double steal and scored on a passed ball to make it 1-0. Jonathan Ornelas then ripped an RBI double, plating Scott Kapers, and the Riders increased their advantage to 2-0.

In the seventh, the Wind Surge found their lone run of the game on a solo home run from Jair Camargo off of Kent.

After Kent exited for Frisco, Grant Wolfram throw a scoreless inning and Grant Anderson struck out the side in the ninth to earn his sixth save of the year.

The Riders were held to just two hits on the night in their second-straight 2-1 win.

Frisco and Wichita continue their six-game series from Riders Field on Saturday night with a 7:05 p.m. first pitch, as Riders LHP Avery Weems (2-5, 5.00 ERA) takes on Wind Surge LHP Aaron Rozek (0-0, 2.25 ERA).
