Tulsa Drillers News Release

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR - Walks and a strong performance from the Arkansas Travelers bullpen hurt the Tulsa Drillers on Friday night. Eight walks, with six of them scoring, aided the Travelers in a 10-4 win at Dickey-Stephens Park.

After the Drillers scored four runs on Arkansas starting pitcher Emerson Hancock, Tulsa's offense was silent, earning just one hit in the final six innings against the Travelers bullpen in the loss.

Runs were being scored early and often in the first few innings, as both teams combined to score 11 runs in the first three innings.

Andy Pages put the first runs on the board for the Drillers by hitting a two-run homer, his 23rd of the season, in the bottom of the first.

Arkansas tagged Drillers starter John Rooney for five runs, but only one run was earned due to an error in the inning. The Travs first runs came to the plate when Justin Yurchak misplayed a ground ball, allowing two runners to score. Rooney only recorded two outs before being relieved in the first inning after giving up one hit, four walks and throwing 36 pitches.

Tanner Dodson entered and allowed three inherited runners to score on two singles to give Arkansas a 5-2 lead.

The Drillers scored two more runs of their own in the next two innings. Carson Taylor's RBI groundout in the second inning, and Brandon Lewis' sacrifice fly in the third pulled Tulsa to within a run.

Two more walks hurt the Drillers in the bottom of the third as Arkansas took a 7-4 lead on a two-RBI double from Riley Unroe.

Kaden Polcovich scored the Travs' eighth run on a groundout in the fifth before they completed the game's scoring with two final runs in the eighth inning on an RBI single and a failed 5-4-3 double play.
