
Kenneth Vermeer Undergoes Successful Pectoral Surgery

CINCINNATI - FC Cincinnati goalkeeper Kenneth Vermeer underwent a successful surgical procedure to repair a torn pectoral muscle, the club announced today. He will miss the remainder of the 2022 season.
Vermeer, 36, suffered the injury in a training session last week. Dr. Matthew Busam, the club's Chief Medical Officer, performed the surgery at Mercy Health West hospital on Monday, July 25. The veteran goalkeeper has made one appearance this season, in the U.S. Open Cup Round of 32 against the New England Revolution. He's appeared on the bench in 17 of the club's 22 MLS matches in 2022.
FC Cincinnati return to play on Saturday, July 30 at Inter Miami CF. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised on WSTR 64, streamed regionally on fccincinnati.com/stream, out of market on ESPN+, on radio on ESPN 1530 while an audio stream will be available via the iHeartRadio app.
