Kelowna Rockets News Release
Kelowna, BC: The Kelowna Rockets have announced that 17 year old James Kerr has been traded to the Portland Winterhawks.
The Rockets send Kerr to the Hawks in exchange for a fourth round conditional draft pick in the 2009 Bantam Draft. The trade will only be complete, should Kerr compete with the Winterhawks in the Western Hockey League this season.
Rockets President/General Manager Bruce Hamilton stated, "He was certainly a candidate to make our team after training camp broke, but decided to play in the BCHL with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. Portland has been interested in him and will try to get him to play there. We wish him the best of luck."
Kerr has been playing this season in the BCHL with the Alberni Valley Bulldogs. In 30 games Kerr has collected four goals, 15 assists for 19 points.
